Hundreds of parents from Riamoni village have requested Jubilee Government to increase the number of village polytechnics in the locality to fit increasing demand by youths.

Speaking during the burial of Former area councilor Mr. Malachi Onduko, speaker after speaker reiterated the need to increase technical colleges from the area to equip youths with relevant skills that can sustain them in future.

“Not every student will make it to institutions of higher learning and middle level colleges. These polytechnics ought to be increased so that our children will get required education to handle our deteriorating economy”, said Nyakongo High School Principal Mr. Bruce Kerage.

He said technical colleges are vital in any community since they equip people will actual skills that can be executed practically.

They urged President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government to put more emphasis on equipping existing Polytechnics besides increasing their number countrywide.

“We request state house to bring these kinds of colleges so that the rising number of school leavers can join them for the sake of their future”, said area MCA Hon. Atuti Ken.

This was precipitated by long distance that residents have to walk to reach the nearby village polytechnic that is found in Gesima market.

They urged youths to enroll in large numbers to polytechnics and to desist from engaging themselves in activities that may sabotage economic growth during this festive season.
