[Photo/CGKK]Kakamega County Governor Wycliffe Oparanya is today (December 12) scheduled to commission Bukhungu Stadium before presiding over Jamhuri Day celebrations at the same venue. The stadium will afterwards come to a new life as a scintillating soccer encounter between Kenya Premier Clubs, Kakamega Homeboyz and soccer giants AFC Leopards.The match kicks off at 3 pm as part of Oparanya's efforts to grow soccer standards and improve the economy of the county. Oparanya invited fans to show up in large numbers for reopening of the stadium following renovations."I will officially open Bukhungu stadium as one of my major projects in the County as AFC Leopards will be taking on Homeboys FC, come support your favourite team as the tournament goes on," the two-time governor said on after watching Uganda play against Burundi in the Cecafa games."This will also attract more investors thus providing employment to our youth as I look forward to put Kakamega to a higher standard before the end if my tenure," Oparanya added.
