Bukusu Elders have decided to suspend its chairman for leading a delegation to State House a few days ago.Led by Joseph Wekesa, they claim that they suspended Richard Walukano for violating the councils policy. He said that the council is non partisan hence advices both the ruling coalition and the Opposition in crucial matters."We are very much aware of the elders who trooped to State House for self interest and tummies and not in the interest of the community," he said on Sunday.Walukano led other elders in visiting President Uhuru in State House and pledged to support his reelection bid in next month repeat presidential elections.Wekesa added that the team that went to State House was not sent by elders and they regret that their image has been tainted."We have decided as a council that all the officials who went to State House stand suspended until further notice," he added. They have then decided to elect a new chair within 60 days.Walukano has said that he is not aware of the suspension, adding that he is still the chair."As far as I am concerned the council is still intact and we are going to have a general meeting next week to address some of the issues," he said.
