A group of Bukusu elders who went to State House to pledge allegiance to the Jubilee administration have been punished.
Richard Walukano, the council chairman and Patrick Wamunda, the group adviser who led the delegation have since had there positions revoked.
During the State House meeting, the elders pledged to surmount a door-to-door reelection campaign for President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In a a special general meeting chaired by Luhyia Council of Elders chairman Patrick Wangamati, the elders were suspended and barred from transacting business on behalf of the group.
Former Provincial Commissioner Maurice Makhanu has since been picked as the acting chairman, pending an annual general meeting in 90 days that will see new officials elected.
