[Photo|Governor's Press Service-Bungoma County]Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati led a host of leaders from in and outside Bungoma county in bidding fare well to Mzee Ngome, father to his Deputy Prof Ngome Kibanani. The late was buried in Luuya village, Milima Ward of Tongaren constituency on Saturday.Speakers called for unity among the Luhyas community, with the governor saying the Luhya unity must begin with unity within Bungoma county. He urged his party leader, area Senator Moses Wetangula to leave the work of uniting residents of Bungoma county to him and the sitting MPs.According to him, Wetangula has a huge role of reaching out to the neighbouring Luhya community counties to slowly bring them on board ahead of 2022.Citing an incident where Water and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa was chased from the Maragoli Cultural Festival in Vihiga county, Wangamati said Wamalwa was not chased because he is a Bukusu."Maragolis and Bukusus are together politically, under Senator Wetangula and Hon Musalia Mudavadi in NASA," he said."CS Eugene was not chased away from a Maragoli festival because he was a Bukusu. He was chased away because he represented Jubilee," he added.Tongaren MP Dr Eseli Simiyu said he attended the same function and was warmly received. Also present was Wetangula who urged local leaders to focus on issuing ID cards and registration of voters so as Bungoma county can have a million registered voters by 2022.
