A man in Bungoma stabbed to death his friend in a quarrel over women they intended to take home from a bar.

24-year-old Martin Wanjala was out drinking with his brother Peter Liolu when they became involved in an argument with 22-year-old Jacob Sikuku, the victim.

According to the Star, Wanjala then drew a knife from his clothes stabbed Sikuku to death before fleeing with his brother.

Witnesses say the attacker is an orphan working as a boda boda operator.

The two brothers are said to be rowdy in character and always carrying a dagger.

Misanga assistant chief Gladys Wafula has confirmed the incident and revealed that police are on a manhunt for the killer who is believed to have fled to Uganda.

''We understand times are tough but we ask youths to refrain from taking alcohol and chasing after women. They should marry and settle down instead," Misanga said.
