A man in Mayanja village of Bungoma county has been fined Sh3 700 by elders after he was caught in the act with his neighbour’s wife.
It is alleged that Simon Nyongesa famously known as Ng’ombe was caught Monday night by the man of the house Juma Malikobo, a watchman in Bungoma town, after he was informed of the illicit affair between his wife and Mr Nyongesa.
According to a neighbour Edwin Mukasiali, Mr Malikobo informed his wife Resor Malikobo that he was reporting to his normal duties only to resurface after some hours.
“He told his wife that he was reporting to work but he was making a trap secretly,” said Mukasiali.
His worst fears were confirmed when he found his neighbour right in the act with his wife. He was angered by the incident and wanted to slash him with a panga before neighbours intervened.
“I can’t stand this. This is a disgrace to me,” he said.
The matter was reported to village elder Wekesa Milimo where a meeting was called between the two men and an agreement reached where a Sh3 700 penalty was imposed on Nyongesa for cleansing in accordance with tradition.
