A man surprised many on Tuesday when he rode a bicycle for 385 kilometres.
What was even more surprising was the fact that the man rode the bike that long to go and watch the Nzoia Regional Term 2B secondary school ball games in Lodwar town.
Although Kennedy Makokha, a resident of Bungoma County is said to have wound up the journey fatigued, he reported that he was happy to have arrived at Lokichar Secondary School safe to enjoy what took him there.
"I left Bungoma on Sunday at 3am with the urge of reaching my destination with the same means of transport," he said.
"Lokichar Secondary School bus which was ferrying students for the games offered me transport but I declined. It took me two days to reach my final destination but I had no regrets for taking the decision to cycle to Lodwar. I love soccer and nobody can separate me from it."
Makokha said the qualification of Friends School Bukembe to the games boosted his urge to travel to Lodwar.
He said he passionately supports the team.
"I am here in solidarity with the Bungoma soccer champions," he said.
Makokha's determination saw a resident of Lodwar offer to pay for him an air ticket to fly back to Eldoret International Airport from where he will travel back to Bungoma.
Excited Turkana fans and participants at the games contributed money for his upkeep for the period the games will be held.
The development put Bungoma County on the limelight again after an incident in which a man hung on a helicopter that ferried former businessman Jacob Juma's body to his rural home.
