A Bungoma politician has called for the arrest of Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali following Friday's attack on ODM party leader Raila Odinga in Mumias town.
Moses Nandalwe accused Mr Washiali of inciting youth against the opposition chief saying Raila did not deserve the treatment he received.
"We know the incident was well-planned by a few Jubilee politicia s led by Mumias East MP Ben Washiali and we want them arrested for that backward behaviour," Nandalwe said.
The multimillionaire politician who is eyeing for the Sirisia MP seat called on Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet to intervene and order for the arrest of MP Washiali.
Raila on Friday unceremoniously left Shibale in Mumias East as youth blocked his convoy.
In the company of Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, he was scheduled to address a rally in Shibale market centre.
He had gone to the centre to condole with residents who had been harassed by GSU officers deployed in the area to look for guns recently stolen at Booker police post.
A video posted online after Raila left the place shown Mr Washiali confront Governor Oparanya.
In the middle of their verbal altercation, the MP is seen push Oparanya to near fall down.
Residents intervene and separate the two before Mr Odinga proceeded to Kakamega town to meet ODM delegates from Western region.
