Some residents in NASA strongholds in Western Kenya have defied an appeal by NASA leaders on Wednesday to boycott the repeat presidential poll.Bungoma and Vihiga county residents have turned out to vote against the will of NASA co-principals Moses Wetang'ula and Musalia Mudavadi.Led by Senate speaker Kenneth Lusaka, residents have come out to vote in some polling stations.Also, former Vihiga Governor was made his way to Munugi Primary School in Sabatia Constituency to cast his vote. However, a majority of the polling stations experienced a low turnout.NASA leaders yesterday on Wednesday while speaking at Uhuru Park Nairobi urged their supporters to distance themselves from the polling stations.Locals had barricaded the busy Kisumu-Kakamega highway and police had to use tear gas to disperse rowdy residents at Mbale trading centre.
