One of the victims of the tragic chopper crash at Lake Nakuru will be laid to rest on Saturday.

Captain Apollo Otieno Malowa will be buried at his home in Kamkwaya, Bondo, Siaya County.

"Burial arrangements have already been made and we are expecting the body on Friday," said Ronald Wasonga, the family spokesman.

Malowa perished alongside John Mapozi, Veronicah Muthoni, Anthony Kipyegon and Sam Gitau in an accident a week ago.

The five were attending a Jubilee Party rally in Narok County on Saturday, October 21 2017.

The family asked the government to hasten investigations into the accident, adding that the outcome should be made public.

"We are saddened by the death and our appeal to the government is to speed up the investigations so that we can know what led to the deadly accident," Wasonga told the Nation.

Clementina Owade, Malowa's grandmother, said the Captain's death had shocked the family.

"He loved us and provided all we needed. We will surely miss him," she said.
