Burundi forward Francis Mustapha has issued a come and get me plea to Gor Mahia. The Kiyovu striker explained he regards a move to the Kenyan champions as a 'dream'.
“Gor Mahia is the best team in this region,” said the 22-year-old forward, who has scored 10 times in the Rwandan league this season.
“I watched them play Rayon Sport (in the Caf Confederation Cup in Kigali) and said to myself 'this is the team I want to play for'. Even in Bujumbura, everybody knows about Gor Mahia. Under their current coach, they are playing very sexy football which suits me.
“When Gor Mahia officials reached out to me earlier this month, I was excited, but at that time the league was in a crucial stage and I couldn't get time to come to Nairobi to finalize the move. Now I am ready because we play our final league match of the season on Wednesday.”
Mustapha has been a joy to watch in the Rwandan league this term. Under the guidance of coach Casa Mbungo, the lanky star has thrived for the cash-strapped Kiyovu while playing just behind a target man.
The hat-trick he scored against AS Kigali in the league was his stand-out [erformance, and he also scored the only goal in his team's 1-0 league win over Mukura Victory on Sunday.
Besides Gor Mahia, Rayon Sports and Tanzania's Simba SC are also said to have contacted the player's representatives. K'Ogalo have until Saturday to complete a move for Mustapha.
