A Busia County female runner Pamela Amojong braved the chilly morning weather on Sunday to finish 20th in the Stanchart 21km half marathon 2017 that was dominated by runners from Rift Valley.
The race was won by Valarie Aiyabei who returned in a time of 1: 11.04, shattering the time of 1:12.26 set by last year's winner Betty Lombus.
Amojong said the sky was the limit as she endeavors to end the dominance of runners from Rift Valley in the marathon races both locally and internationally.
Amojong is the only athlete from Busia County who is training in the Rift Valley High Altitude Training Camp.
In September 2017, Amojong landed an invitation for the Satara Hill Half Marathon where she finished among the top 10.
