Former national and East African Volleyball Champions Malava Girls Principal Assumpta Obore is leading the Busia County Women Volleyball team to the fifth Kenya Inter-Counties Sports and Cultural Association (KICOSCA) games that start in Machakos county on Monday.Assumpta who is the Busia County Public Service Board chairperson was instrumental in Malava's success story in the volleyball before repeating the feat with Kabuyefwe Girls to the runners-up position in the regional games.Speaking at the team's send-off at the Busia County Stadium on Friday, Assumpta said her input as the team manager would make a difference in the volleyball team that will be making their second appearance at the games."It is easy to bring the trophy but it is fearful to return it back, thus the need by county staff to join the discipline of their choice so as to open up their careers," she said.County Agriculture Executive Dr. Moses Osia who represented Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong said the team was capable of winning all the 10 trophies in the disciplines they will take part in at the games.Culture and Sports CeC Martin Kafwa said Busia is an active member of Kicosca, adding that the County is sending 222 players for the games.
