The political climate in the wake of the electioneering period in the country has affected the mood for revelers in Kisumu especially those fond of visiting the now popular beach known as Luang’ni.
According to business operators at the beach, politics have diverged the attention of Kenyans in the region.
Luang’ni Beach in Kisumu has become a household name with those traveling to the lakeside side city trooping the food joints to enjoy what’s on offer. However, this Christmas season the beach has registered one of the most unprecedented numbers of revelers unlike in the previous years.
Speaking on the eve of Christmas at Luang’ni beach, one of the delicacies vendors at the Luang’ni beach, Susan Agutu, the lakeside city and the situation at the beach has greatly been affected by the August 8 and October 26 polls’ aftermath.
“Last year about this time you could not find a place to sit or walk even you could not cope up with the customers who come around. So this season, it is not how it is supposed to be. We have been affected so much by the recent political stalemate,” Agutu said.
Kenyans in different places have traveled to tourists destinations for Christmas purposes having their minds switched to the Christmas mode today. During celebrations of this kind, churches are crammed to capacity and fancy foodstuffs are eaten to make merry.
