Normal operations are slowly taking shape in Nakuru's CBD.
A spot check along the busy Kenyatta avenue confirms that it's business as usual with most banks, supermarkets and chemist now open.
This comes in the backdrop of the repeat fresh presidential elections that happened on Thursday 26th October, 2017. The day was declared a public holiday by Cabinet secretary for Internal Security, Dr. Fred Matiangi.
"We opened today after the election break, although few customers are checking in," Lucy Wairimu, a pharmacist at a leading chemist along Kenyatta Avenue, said.
"Not all businesses have opened, but today is much better compared to yesterday," Naomi Njoki, a security guard, said.
Those sentiments were echoed by Johe Kisenge, a bodaboda operator said.
"I am happy business is catching up, I am getting customers already," Kisenge said.
Most establishments are now pulling down notices that informed the public about closure following polls.
