The business community has called on Kenyans to conduct peaceful campaigns and elections in honour of the late former cabinet minister Nicholas Biwott.
National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) Chairman Kiprono Kittony said the best way through which Kenyans can honour the late former powerful minister is by holding peaceful polls.
“The best we can do to honour Mr Biwott is by carrying out peaceful elections,” he said during a requiem mass at the AIC Milimani Church in Nairobi on Tuesday.
He said Biwott was re-known businessman and the business society would forever remember him for his immense contribution in the commerce industry.
Biwott died in Nairobi on Tuesday aged 77.
Famously known as ‘The Total Man’ he served alongside Kenya’s first three Presidents- Jomo Kenyatta, Daniel Moi and Mwai Kibaki and with many significant public figures in post-independence Kenya, including Bruce McKenzie and Tom Mboya.
He will be buried at his Tot village in Elgeyo Marakwet County on Thursday.
