Speaking at Githurai 45, Githurai Traders Union chairperson Jane Kihara said that the new initiative will enable revenue collection and even reduce the collection gaps witnessed in past years.

Kihara said that it is vital for the county to make steps towards being technologically oriented since the future of many businesses and investors is cantered on technological platforms that create a virtual networking base which improves service delivery.

“Through the digitika card service, the business fraternity in Kiambu region will have major improvements, business owners will be able to monitor and evaluate their revenue history, thus any corrupt dealings can be easily traced,” said Kihara.

She added, “We pay revenues to the county government so that we can get better working environments and services, thus the funds obtained should be accounted for and proper development agendas put in place.”

According to Kihara the digitika card which is centred towards building a trustworthy source of information for tracking revenue collection will modernise business and even woo investors to the county.

She appealed for the fee to be put to an easily affordable price to avoid squabbles noted in the past.

Digitika which was launched in April is aimed at moving with the country’s agenda towards vision 2030.
