Mawanga Teachers Business Owners Association Chairman James Maina has warned business operators in Nakuru against colluding with unscrupulous people ‘manufacturing’ and distributing fake business operation licenses.
Maina said this during an Investment and Business Management Workshop that was attended by members of the association at the Deliverance Church grounds in Teachers Estate today (Saturday).
He alleged that many business operators in Nakuru were being lured into illegal and corrupt activities by conpeople who ‘manufacture’ and issue fake business certificates at low prices to some business operators in the town. Maina advised members of his association to stop engaging in such illegal activities, saying that they risk losing licenses for their businesses and also being convicted in courts of law.
“I humbly request and warn you to desist any attempts by con-people to sell for you fake certificates because the government is on the lookout,’’said Maina adding that the association would dismiss any member found engaging in tax evading activities.
