Business was paralysed for the better part of Thursday morning in Kisii town more so in Daraja Mbili market following heavy rains.
The downpour which persisted for more than four hours forced most of the public offices to open late as a majority of workers were marooned in their houses by the unrelenting rains.
The local business community at Daraja Mbili complained of the bad drainage in the market that made them find difficulties in accessing the market.
Irene Kwamboka a business lady at Daraja Mbili said that they have been calling the county government to help in improving the drainage system so that they get easy time when it rains but all has been in vain.
“The rains have made the market inaccessible but I believe the government will take quick steps in ensuring that the drainage system is improved,” she added.
