Protesters in Nairobi (photo/The star)Business in Nairobi has been largely affected by the ongoing anti-IEBC demos organized by the opposition outfit, NASA.
By Thursday, businesses had lost more than 10 million in stolen goods during the protests. This is as depicted by central police station records.Nairobi police spokesman George Kinoti, however, said the figure could be higher given that they were still receiving more complaints."A significant number of people have reported to us but we have not made aggregate all over the county," said Kinoti.Businessmen in Nairobi have stated that another solution to the current stalemate should sort instead of using protests. For instance, on Cardinal Otunga road, there were three shops with broken windows. The owners said, they are afraid the shops will be targeted again should the demos continue. They have called upon the NASA leadership to reconsider their plan and call off the protests that are hurting their business.
