Numerous hawkers nearly beat up tycoon Ndung'u Mureithi after he demanded that the traders be removed from his plots that earn him hundreds of thousands of shillings monthly.

The saga started at around noon when the Ndumu House proprietor moved to the area around Maasai Avenue where the hawkers are busy building new trading structures along alleys after being evicted from various parts of the town in the wake of the New Year.

With several media houses reporters in tow, Ndumu was showing them around protesting that the Governor Kinuthia Mbugua administration was adversely affecting the neighborhood that consists of various tenants mainly of Asian origin.

He claimed drainage systems had been clogged by the traders who also allegedly cut water supply to his Calcutta and Bombay estates both of which caused him financial damage as some tenants had shifted homes thus depriving him if vital income while he's reportedly a major taxpayer in town.
