Paul Momanyi said he left the place at around twenty minutes to 9pm, and walked home only to be informed through phone by neighbours that his shop was on fire

“I had just left the place a bout twenty minutes to 9 pm, but I was shocked when I received the call from the neighbor informing me that the kiosk was on fire. Nothing was salvaged from the inferno,” said Momanyi.

The cause of the fire could not be established immediately, though residents suspected that it was as a result of an electric fault.

William Owino, a resident and a neighbor said he was taking his son to the latrine, when he saw the fire and immediately informed the owner.

"I was taking my son to the latrine when I saw the fire then I informed the Paul who rushed to the scene, but we did not manage to save anything as the fire spread first,” said Owino.

Momanyi, who only depends on the shop as means of income called to well-wishers to assist him re-build his business, since he has been left with nothing.
