A businessman was on Monday arraigned in a Nakuru court for obtaining Sh500,000 in false pretence.

Richard Kamau who appeared before senior principal magistrate Liz Gichea was accused of defrauding Stephen Mwangi off his money on May 31.

Kamau claimed that he was in a position to sell him a combined harvester valued Sh500,000.

He was released in a cash bail of Sh80,000. The case will be heard on July 16.

Another businessman was charged in the same court for operating an agro vet without license.

Titus Nderituwho was charged for unlawfully operating an agrovet without a permit from the Kenya Pharmacy and Poisons Board.

The court heard that the accused was found operating the unlawfulbusiness on May 22 at Kampi ya Moto area in Rongai sub-county.

The accused denied charges of selling unregistered drugs without a license.

The prosecution told the court that officials from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board intercepted the consignment of the unregistered drugs at the accused’s premises.

He was released on a Sh 30,000 bond with surety of a similar amount. The case will be heard on July 7.
