A businessman was on the night of April 6, 2016 killed in cold blood by unknown people in Mavoloni, Yatta sub-county.

According to Yatta OCPD Edward Kipsang, the businessman was asleep before unknown people broke into his shop killing him instantly by cutting him into pieces using a panga. 

"I got information from the deceased wife on what had happened at around 5am where I rushed to the scene. The gang did not steal anything from the shop," said Kipsang. 

Kipsang said that investigations on the cause of the businessman's death have been launched and soon the involved will be arrested. 

The body of the deceased was taken to Matuu median hospital mortuary.
