Kobia and his four accomplices Alvin AnZaya, Nelson Muyi, John Mutwiri and Martin Mwangi were on the 8th of March involved in a scuffle with the complainant who Kobia claims owes him Sh 40 million. Kobia claimed that he had loaned Londole Iseka Blanchard a Congolese national the money in exchange for gold but he failed to refund the loan. It is alleged that Kobia alongside his body guards roughed him up and he shot twice in the air before bundling the accused in their car. Kobia was arrested at his home early March and locked up in Kilimani Police Station over the abduction of Iseka. His accomplices however pleaded not guilty to kidnapping and assaulting a Congolese national, Londole Iseka Blanchard and were released on Sh500, 000 cash bail each pending trial.Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi issued summons requiring Kobia to present himself in court after he failed to show up Friday to plead to the charges.Lawyer Kiraithe Wandugi told magistrate Andayi that his client was involved in a road accident on Thika Road on Saturday sustaining serious injuries hence the need to go for further examination.
