A businessman has pledged to give Sh50,000 to the best KCSE student in Nakuru West constituency.

David Karuri promised to award the top student with the cash to motivate students in the constituency.

Speaking over the weekend, Karuri also said the top female student in the constituency will receive Sh30,000.

Karuri said most students in Nakuru West have low motivation something he blamed for poor the performance in national examinations.

“Our students have been performing poorly because most of them are not motivated and as leaders we should take up the responsibility of motivating and encouraging our students especially during exam time,” said Karuri who is among the many aspirants eyeing the Nakuru Town West parliamentary seat in the 2017 polls.

“I will give a prize of Sh50,000 to the top student in Nakuru west and also award Sh30,000 to the top female student,” he added.

Karuri also promised to ensure all primary and secondary schools in the constituency have clean piped water and electricity at his own cost.
