A man and his wife were shot and injured as they were closing their shop in Tala town on Tuesday night.
Kangundo DCIO David Wafula on confirmed the incident and said the couple was accosted by three armed men at around 9 pm.
"The gang shot the man in the right hand, ear and back while his wife was shot in the back and are admitted in hospital for treatment", said Wafula.
The DCIO added that the men stole unknown amount of money and cigarettes.
Wafula assured that police officers are pursuing the suspects.
"The thieves are being pursued by police. Once they will be arrested, they will be arraigned in court to be charged with robbery," Wafula said.
He warned youths against venturing into illegal activities saying the law will not spare anyone committing crimes.
