Uasin Gishu County CeC in charge of Trade Philip Melly has urged businessmen in the county to apply for single business permits before the set deadline.
Speaking in his office on Wednesday, Melly said according to the Licensing Act 2014 and Finance Act, the deadline for acquisition of the permits is March 31.
"Anyone who will not have attained the permits by the deadline will attack an additional 50 per cent," he said.
He said businessmen should take advantage and apply for the permits before time elapses.
"We will start a thorough crackdown of businesses that don't have permits and anyone who will be found without a permit will be arrested and charged. We don't want to harass anybody, they should take the noble course of getting the permits," he said.
