The president is today, Tuesday in his Central Kenya backyard, with more rallies planned for Nyeri and Murang’a.

With just only 13 days to the election, both the ruling Jubilee Party and the opposition Nasa alliance plan to campaign to the last day, August 6.

The two regions are considered Jubilee strongholds, and the president will take the opportunity to urge them to come out in large numbers and cast their votes.

After visiting Mandera, Wajir and Garissa over the weekend, the president is on Wednesday expected to tour Marsabit and Samburu Counties, areas that he was earlier scheduled to visit on Monday.

The two counties are perceived NASA areas, having voted largely for the opposition in the last elections.

On Thursday, the president’s team is again expected to traverse one of the key regions for the opposition alliance, with planned rallies in Kakamega and Bungoma.

President Kenyatta will then tour Elgeyo Marakwet and Baringo counties on Friday this week. The two areas predominantly voted Jubilee in 2013, before moving to Kirinyaga, Embu and Kiambu over the weekend.

The ruling coalition intends to visit Nakuru, Nyandarua and Laikipia counties on Sunday, before moving to Rongai, Kiserian, Ngong and Nairobi on Monday.
