Traders selling meat in KisiI town have incurred losses following the closure of the main Daraja Mbili slaughterhouse.
The slaughter house was closed for being unhygenic.
According to traders led by Mr Wilfred Monyenye said the transport from Kisii town to Suneka and Nyakoe slaughterhouse was expensive.
"Kisii County should speed up the renovation of Daraja Mbili slaughter house. Thanks because it's expensive to transport meat from Suneka Sunday to town," said Mr Monyenye.
He threatened to lead other traders in holding protests against the County Government if the contractor working on the slaughterhouse will not finish the work in time.
“The contractor should do the renovation quickly failure to which we will hold demos for a new contractor to be given the job,” he said.
He also said that they were contemplating to add prices because of the expenses they were incurring.
They were speaking in Kisii town on Friday.
