Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale has warned Jubilee against making any changes in the Elections Act, saying if the move sails through in Parliament, then they should brace for street protests.
Speaking in Nyamira town on Sunday, Khalwale said Cord MPs won’t accept the changes and maintained that they will not allow any attempts to review the election laws negotiated by the joint parliamentary select committee on IEBC.
MPs will on Tuesday hold a Special Sitting where it is expected they will make major changes in the use of technology in next year's elections.
“As Cord, we won’t allow Jubilee to use its numbers in Parliament to change election laws and if they will do that, let them buy more tear gas to face us on the streets because we have to protest to oppose the changes,” said Khalwale.
He was accompanied by Ford-K party leader Moses Wetangula during the tour where they opened the party's office in the region.
