[Photo/nation]Former Kisumu County Woman Representative aspirant Grace Akumu says she will not file an appeal at the Appellate Court, after she lost an election petition against Rosa Buyu.The leader of Citizens Convention Party (CCP) and wife to former Nyakach MP the late Dennis Akumu, lost the woman rep seat to Buyu who ran the August 8, 2017 general elections through ODM ticket.On Thursday, Kisumu High Court Judge, Justice Thripsisa Cherere in her ruling, said Akumu's petition lacked merit and that Buyu was validly elected. Akumu was then directed to pay costs amounting to Sh4 million to the respondents - Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), the Returning Officer and the woman representative.Addressing the media shortly after the ruling, the politician said she did not have resources to appeal the case and that she would leave the matter as it is.
