Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant Kiprop Bundotich alias Buzeki has defied Deputy President William Ruto after the latter's call for him to step down from the governor's race.
This comes after the DP asked every Jubilee supporter in the county to rally behind incumbent Mandago, reaching out to his friend Buzeki to support Mandago.
Buzeki however decided to stand his ground and rejected Ruto's proposition saying he is not a Jubilee project.
The businessman first vowed to vie as an independent after Mandago defeated him in the Jubilee primaries.
He claimed that Mandago used unorthodox ways to rig himself to the Jubilee ticket and promised to use the independent candidate slot to ascend to office.
