Uasin Gishu gubernatorial candidate Bundotich Kiprop alias Buzeki has dismissed claims that he is a political project sponsored by Deputy President William Ruto.
Over the past few month the business magnet had been associated with Ruto in his quest to unseat incumbent Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago.
However, while speaking at Citizen TV on Monday, the businessman-cum politician said he has never consulted the Deputy president over his quest to become Uasin Gishu governor.
"I never consulted Deputy President William Ruto, I didn't even send him an sms, I am not and will never be somebody's project," said Buzeki.
He however, said there is only one thing that can lead him to consulting the DP.
"What I can ask from Ruto is his vote only," he said.
He also passed the blame of the DP Ruto project tag on him to governor Mandago, whom he said was behind the propaganda.
"I wish mandago had not turned down the invite to be on this interview the question of me as DP Ruto's project could have been answered well by him because he is the one who has been propelling that propaganda," he said.
Buzeki will face Mandago for the gubernatorial seat in the August 8, polls.
