Uasin Gishu gubernatorial hopeful Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop popularly known as Buzeki has promised to set up at least three factories in the county within his first term in office if elected governor.

This, he said will help create employment opportunities to hundreds of youths who are jobless across the country.

Speaking during an interview on Radio Citizen, Monday, Buzeki pledged to establish a milk factory, meat processing factory as well as maize factory in the county.

"This is an agricultural county, and the country's food basket for that matter and having this factories in place will help boost farming activities and transform farmer's livelihoods," noted Buzeki.

"The milk factory will be exclusively owned by the farmers cooperatives societies," he added.

The billionaire business mogul noted that the three factories will employ at least 2,000 residents of Uasin Gishu county.

Buzeki, an established entrepreneur with interests in the transport sector once owned the Buzeki dairies, and Molo milk which were later sold to the giant milk processing company Brookside diaries.

He will be vying on an independent candidate against Jubilee party's incumbent governor Jackson Mandago.
