After defying Deputy President William Ruto's plea to shelve his gubernatorial ambitions and support governor Jackson Mandago, billionaire business mogul Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop better known as Buzeki on Monday attended the commissioning of an ultra Modern UHT unit at the Eldoret New KCC which was presided over by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Buzeki who is vying for the seat as an independent candidate was not given a chance to speak but his presence was acknowledged by Ruto amid cheers from the public.
Only governor Mandago was allowed to speak during the event but he also chose to steer clear from the local politics and instead highlighted initiatives his administration has put in place to support livestock farmers.
"We've subsidised AI services, reduced dipping costs from Sh25 per cattle to sh10 as well as supplied acaricides to all dips across the county in a bid to improve livestock production in this county," Mandago noted.
For Buzeki he resorted to expressing his views on social media and thanked locals for a warn reception.
"We thank the national government for the KCC factory, however my government will undertake serious dairy farming transformation. I hold dairy farming close to my heart and it’s the very first pillar in my manifesto. I also want to thank the residents for the warm welcome," said Buzeki on his official Facebook page.
Many did not expect Buzeki to attend the function especially after he bluntly told off Ruto over calls to quit the race.
