This is a major boost to Buzeki who is vying for the seat on an independent ticket against governor Jackson Mandago, a Jubilee party nominee.

Led by Julius Mugun who lost in his Senate bid, the nomination losers accused Mandago of sidelining them in his campaigns.

They however insisted that they still support President Uhuru Kenyatta's reelection bid."We have agreed as all the Jubilee party nomination losers in this county that we will support President Kenyatta for reelection but for the governor's post we are behind Buzeki," said Mr. Mugun.

"This decision has been reached because Mandago has sidelined us in his campaigns despite earlier promises that those who lost in party primaries would have a role to play in the campaigns," he added.
