The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) will declare ODM Member of the County Assembly (MCA) aspirant Alex Jaoko, as the winner in Kanyamkago Central ward (Uriri, Migori).

IEBC said Jaoko was the only candidate in the race to succeed the late area MCA, Michael Osongo, who died on September 26, 2016 following a long battle with throat cancer.

By-elections will also be conducted in Maji Mazuri/Mumberes (Eldama Ravine, Baringo), March 22, 2017.

"Voter registration will start immediately in Kanyamkago while in Maji Mazuri/Mumberes, voter registration will start shortly after the end of the MVR campaign on 14th February,'' clarified the agency's chairman, Wafula Chebukati, Tuesday.
