Nyamira Senator Okong’o Mogeni now wants Supreme Court to nullify election of president Uhuru Kenyatta based on various electoral offences by his Jubilee party.
Appearing for Raila Odinga on Tuesday, Okong’o, who at sometime served as Law society of Kenya Chairman said a number of electoral malpractices were committed.
And in his submissions, Mogeni specifically pointed an accusing finger to a number of Cabinet Secretaries whom he accused of misusing their powers.
Among those under scrutiny include Mwangi Kiunjuri whom he said campaigned indiscriminately against the law across the country.
Also in the quagmire is water Minister Eugene Wamalwa and Joe Mucheru whom he says openly campaigned for Uhuru in various platforms.
Conspicuously, Mogeni, who is serving for the first time in parliament, did not mention education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i.
Prior to elections, opposition leader Raila Odinga accused Matiang’i of allegedly using state resources to campaign for Uhuru, a move that was vehemently opposed by the Jubilee administration.
In 2008, Mogeni was on record for dismissing election of President Mwai Kibaki when he was serving as LSK chairman.
