Health Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki is now in the cross-hairs of a section of legislators over the sending on compulsory leave of Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) Chief Executive Officer.
The lawmakers, numbering over one hundred, have threatened to table a motion of no confidence against her next week when parliamentary sessions resume.
According to them, the Cabinet Secretary used her powers arbitrarily.
''We want to end this cycle where civil servants are worried when somebody new is appointed. We want Kenyans to know that they will be protected against anyone trying to use arbitrary powers because they are drunk with power,'' Hillary Kosgei, Kipkelion MP said.
Legislators from Northern Kenya also joined the chorus against the CS, warning her against using arbitrary powers.
''Any attempt to advertise that position is unconstitutional. Let her try other things,'' Khalicha Gufu, Moyale MP said.
Their remarks come in the wake of a mounting public confidence crisis that the country's largest referral facility has been reeling from.
The MPs were speaking earlier today (Tuesday) in Mombasa.
