Officials from CAK together with the police also arrested two radio presenters found in the station and confiscated the station’s equipment.

Sky FM’s transmitters were dismantled at Kiboswa while other equipment were taken from the station.

Kisumu County Commander Nelson Njiri said the station was allegedly established without the knowledge of CAK.

Njiri added that they will be making more arrests as they are looking for the stations owners.

“The two suspects will be appearing in court today (Wednesday) afternoon,” said Njiri.

The County Commander said the right procedure was followed before action was taken including considering complains made in regards to the station.

Recently, CAK acquired warrants to search and subsequently impound equipment used to transmit unauthorised radio broadcast frequencies in Nyanza.

Sky FM is based in Kisumu county and transmits in local language, Dholuo.

The operation is part of investigations alleging illegal operation of six FM stations in the region namely Ugwe FM in Rongo Town, Radio Faith FM in Oyugis Town, Radio Pacho in Siaya, Sunset Radio in Homa Bay, Milambo in Migori and Ekialo Kiona in Mfangano Island.
