Former Taita Taveta Governor John Mruttu has asked NASA leader Raila Odinga to call off the daily anti-IEBC protests if he values and respects the interests of Kenyans.Mruttu who decamped from ODM to President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party last week alleged that the daily protests are a plot to cause violence. The former ODM governor further claimed that NASA is using the protests to intimidate the IEBC ahead of the October 26 repeat presidential election.Speaking to journalists in Voi town on Sunday, Mruttu claimed that NASA is pushing for a coalition government in the name of electoral reforms.Mruttu said NASA is afraid of losing in the repeat presidential election and is using reforms as an excuse to have the poll postponed.“Raila Odinga and NASA top leaders should call off the daily protests if indeed they value the peace and the interests of Kenyans,” said Mruttu. The former governor also asked NASA to use the right channels in pushing for electoral reforms instead of subjecting the country to tension, anxiety, and fear.Mruttu said NASA’S protests will not stop Kenyans from voting for President Uhuru Kenyatta on October 26.The former governor is among Coast poll losers who have decamped from the opposition to the ruling Jubilee Party.
