Jubilee leaders have accused opposition leader Raila Odinga of seeking a power-sharing deal with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Led by Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago and his Nyeri counterpart Wahome Gakuru, the leaders claimed the National Super Alliance (NASA) leadership was sabotaging the economy through sustained anti-IEBC protests.

Speaking while drumming up support for President Uhuru Kenyatta in Uasin Gishu, Saturday, the leaders said Raila was only interested in getting into the leadership position through the backdoor.

They, however, said his plan will fail miserably.

"We will not tolerate the nonsense by NASA. We will not allow them to sabotage the economy and cause suffering because they want power through the backdoor," said the Nyeri governor, as quoted by the Star.

"All we want is peace. We assure Kenyans the election will take place peacefully," Mandago added.

The leaders said after withdrawing from the October 26 repeat presidential election, Raila should call off anti-IEBC protests and retire from politics.

"He (Raila) has punctured himself and withdrawn from the race. He should not cause other Kenyans to suffer," noted former Nyeri woman MP Priscilla Nyokabi.
