National Super Alliance (NASA) leadership has been urged to call off the ongoing mass protests pushing for electoral reforms.According to the Akamba Clans Governing Council, the demonstrations, if continued, the country could descend into violence."We are appealing to the Opposition leaders led by Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka to call off the anti-IEBC protests. They have caused destruction of property, which amounts to economic sabotage, and should be stopped forthwith," Boniface Kilonzo read a statement from the Kamba elders. This comes at a time when Opposition leaders have vowed to intensify the protests despite the government outlawing demos in the major cities."Beginning Monday (Oct. 16), we will hold daily demonstrations across the country. We will not allow anybody to intimidate us and stifle our democratic rights," said Siaya Senator James Orengo.
