Flanked by opposition leaders at a press conference in Nairobi Wednesday, NASA co-principal, Moses Wetangula, revealed that he had received a call that showed that the allure of People's Assembly idea was national.
The Bungoma senator claimed that young people from Central Kenya, Jubilee's stronghold, had expressed their eagerness to be part of NASA's struggle in a call.
"I received a call from young people in Central Kenya saying that they want to be part of the People's Assembly. " Don't think just because we come from central Kenya, we are not hungry," they told me. You have an oligarchy at the top who has forgotten suffering people." Wetangula said.
If Wetangula's claim is true, this development could add much-needed momentum to the opposition's anti-government struggle.
It could also serve as a counterpoint to the widely held view that the People's Assembly idea does not enjoy national resonance.
NASA's top brass has directed County Assemblies in it's grasp to pass motions that will actualise the People's Assembly idea.
