Nyamira MCAs have been urged to inform residents in their various wards to attend meetings organised by the county government even as it seeks to unveil its development agenda to them.
The plea comes after it emerged that a majority of residents don't attend such meetings, prompting others to point fingers at the county government over the development projects it initiates.
On Tuesday, deputy county Speaker Joseph Magangi challenged all MCAs to inform their electorate on the importance of the meetings and encourage them to attend whenever they are organised in their regions.
“It has been noticed that many of the residents don’t attend county meetings I urge every MCA to encourage residents in the wards to attend such meeting s as they are very paramount to them,” Magangi told the assembly.
“It will be easy for them to know what the county has done and what it plans to do and at the same time residents will be given the opportunity to ask questions over development projects to do away instead of pointing fingers at the county government,” he added.
