Technology has become very important to the lives of people in Kenya.
Many youths have a thirst for technology and the old too are struggling to fit in this fast changing world.
However, not all people can access computer education in Kibera since it calls for money.
This has been a hindrance to many youths acquiring computer skills.
Consequently, the Kibra constituency in collaboration with Hands on Skills organisation has started free computer classes for Kibera residents and its environs.
The training which is conducted every Monday to Friday starting 10.30am-12.30pm at AIC Kibera is not limited to any person.
"The training is important to all people because it will help them know how to handle computers and how to obtain information from the computer. It is free therefore no person is limited," said the constituency liaison officer Vincent Ayako.
"The skills acquired will not only benefit those the trainees but the community at large. I urge all people especially the youths, to apply for the training. It will also help those who want to set up their own businesses such as cyber cafes. This is a good plan,’ he added.
