[Photo|Facebook]The Independent Police Oversight Authority (IPOA) has kicked off investigations over the murder of a 7-year-old boy in Pipeline, Nairobi. IPOA said on Wednesday that its officers are already on ground to establish who shot and killed Geoffrey Mutinda on Tuesday as he played at the balcony of their house alongside fellow children. During the sad incident, witnesses said the boy was killed by an officer who was on a motorcycle with his colleague and was shooting aimlessly hopefully with intentions to scare away residents from participating in NASA rally.At the same time, IPOA also said it is investigating an incident where a pregnant woman was shot on her leg by the police during a confrontation with NASA supporters in Donholm area.Unconfirmed reports said at least two people were shot dead by the police during the incident, leaving others injured, including women.NASA leaders condemned the incident and called on the Jubilee government to stop brutalising innocent Kenyans.The killing of the 7-year-old boy has seen consumer lobby group COFEK call for resignation of the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet.
