Clerics have called for dialogue between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his rival Raila Odinga, in order to find a solution to the current political quagmire.

Speaking on Sunday in Mombasa, Anglican Church of Kenya Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit said it was important for the leaders to sit down, in order to lead the country’s healing process after a hot political environment last year.

“The day we will all realize that it is not worth to fight for leadership in a bloody manner, that is when we will be able to find a solution to get rid of the issues that lead us into chaos,” he said.

The leaders spoke during an event to consecrate Reverend Alphonse Mwaro Baya as the new Anglican Church of Kenya Mombasa diocese at Mbaraki, Mombasa.

The Archbishop called on all faithful to maintain peace and unity in the coastal region, after last elections in which they wrangled over a new bishop.

President Kenyatta has however said he will not dialogue with Odinga on matters political but invited them to talk on development-related issues.

The NASA coalition has been calling for dialogue between its’ team and president Kenyatta's Jubilee, in order to find a solution after the disputed general elections in which president Kenyatta won.
